St. Johns Town Center wins First Coast APA Distinguished Project Award
St. Johns Town Center was recently honored at the 2008 First Coast APA Awards luncheon, which recognizes people and projects that have significantly contributed to the field of planning and growth management in the First Coast region of Northeast Florida. At this year's luncheon, Ben Carter Properties received the Distinguished Project Award for the development of Phase II at St. Johns Town Center. The honor recognizes an outstanding project or development completed in the last two years that greatly contributes to the field of planning. The First Coast APA Awards Committee reviewed all nominations and submitted recommendations to the First Coast APA Board, whose members confirmed the 2008 winners. Mr. Ben Carter, Founder and Chairman of Ben Carter Properties, accepted the award. St. Johns Town Center is a joint venture between Ben Carter Properties and Simon Property Group.

The Baccarat Hotel and Residences to Open at Streets of Buckhead
The Streets of Buckhead will become the first U.S. mainland location for Baccarat Hotel and Residences, the new luxury brand created by Starwood Capital Group to personify Baccarat’s 200-year tradition of creating an impeccable personal experience with every product that bears its name. “We believe The Streets of Buckhead is the ideal location to open the first mainland U.S. Baccarat Hotel and Residences,” said Barry Sternlicht, Chairman and CEO of Starwood Capital Group. “Baccarat’s status as an iconic brand is a perfect fit for a development seeking to reward the discerning resident and traveler with access to some of the world’s most celebrated luxury and lifestyle brands, (and) we are excited to be taking part in the revival of this dynamic neighborhood,” said Mr. Sternlicht. Baccarat, long known as the world’s premier manufacturer of fine crystal, brings to The Streets of Buckhead its longstanding reputation as one of the world’s premier luxury brands – one of a select few that define and shape luxury. Guests and residents will enjoy personal exclusive services and signature Baccarat aesthetics. The hotel will include 100 finely-appointed guest rooms and 40 luxurious residences. Baccarat Hotels are also currently in development in other key locations around the world, including Temenos, Anguilla and Wailea, Hawaii.

Ben Carter Properties Makes Donation to Jacksonville Mass Choir
Ben Carter Properties is proud to make a $10,000 contribution in support of Jacksonville Mass Choir, one of the programs of ARTS4JAX, Inc., a non-profit arts foundation in Jacksonville, Florida. ARTS4JAX initiatives include the ARTS4JAX Performing Arts Center and Jacksonville Boys & Girls Choir. The Jacksonville Mass Choir, an advanced performance-based choir for high school and college-aged vocalists, filled in on a moment's notice for another choir at the Lighting of the Tree at St. Johns Town Center in November, 2007. Moved by the choir's performance, Ben Carter, Founder and Chairman of Ben Carter Properties, announced the donation following the ceremony. The contribution will allow ARTS4JAX to produce a gospel CD, as well as to continue to provide quality concerts and music-based events.

New Stores and Holiday Celebration Announced for St. Johns Town Center
The last group of tenants and plans for exciting opening festivities have been announced. The final group of retailers that will open with Phase II of St. Johns Town Center include Aerie, BCBG, Chico's, Juicy Couture, Lacoste, Louis Vuitton, Lululemon, Metropark, and True Religion. Most of these great names are new to Jacksonville. The holiday season will kick off at St. Johns with the center's first annual tree lighting on Saturday, November 10. Stage and street performances, Santa's arrival and a spectacular holiday fireworks show will celebrate the arrival of both the holidays and a new era for St. Johns Town Center.

Loro Piana to join The Streets of Buckhead
The Streets of Buckhead is pleased to announce the signing of yet another luxury retailer, Loro Piana, to the growing roster of boutiques slated to open in the upscale shopping district in 2009. Loro Piana is known world wide for its fine lines of sportswear and leisurewear for men, women, and children, knitwear, accessories, bags, small leather goods and items for the home.

The Streets of Buckhead Breaks Ground, Announces First Retail Tenants, Art on the Streets Program
A new era for the former Buckhead Village began on August 3, 2007, with the groundbreaking for The Streets of Buckhead, a $1.2 billion redevelopment. Plans include over 500,000 square feet of luxury retail and restaurants, dedicated to internationally celebrated and popular retail brands, among them Hermes, Etro, Domenico Vacca, and Bottega Veneta; world-class restaurants, including La Goulue, Bottega del Vino and Fado Irish Pub. "Art on the Streets," a program masterminded by developer Ben Carter Properties, will feature works of art in prominent locations throughout the community. The first work acquired as part of this influential program is contemporary artist Frank Stella's "K.3" (2007), which was on display to visitors at the groundbreaking ceremony.

St. John's Town Center Acquires New Retailers & Eateries
The second phase of St. John's Town Center will include many highly-anticipated fashion retailers and several restaurants new to Jacksonville, Florida. The lineup includes such sought-after retailers and restaurants as Abercrombie, Betsey Johnson, Brooks Brothers, bebe sport, BCBG, Capital Grille, Bare Escentuals, Chico's, Coach, Guess, Juicy Couture, Lacoste, MAC Cosmetics, LuluLemon, MetroPark, Mitchell's Fish Market, Mayors Jewelers, Pottery Barn, Puma, Swarovski, True Religion, Tommy Bahama, Urban Outfitters and West Elm. Many of the retailers are opening their first Jacksonville locations at St. John's Town Center; most will open their doors in late October 2007.

Columbus Park Crossing South Opens
Columbus Park Crossing South, a 375,000 square foot, retail shopping center celebrated it grand opening with a premier retail line-up. This second phase of Columbus Park, a master-planned community in Columbus, Georgia, is bringing even more retail goods and services close to home. This retail development serves as the central regional hub for shopping and dining in southwestern Georgia and southeastern Alabama. Retailers include: Kohl's, Dick's Sporting Goods, TJ Maxx, Petco, Super Wal-Mart, Sam's, Ulta, Kirkland's, Red Robin, Wachovia, Columbus Community Bank, Shogun Japanese Steakhouse, Justice, S&K Famous Brands, Great Clips, Maurices and Quizno's.

Flig Brokers Bank Headquarters Move
Ben Carter Properties brings the nation's largest "bank for banks" headquarters to Buckhead's premier mixed-use community, Piazza at Paces, on Northside Drive at I-75 in Atlanta. Candice Flig, Partner and Executive Vice President, brokered the deal to move the headquarters to the fifth building at Piazza at Paces, which is expected to be complete by year-end. The six-story, 160,000 square foot, Class A office building known as "The Medici", will be the third office component of this Italian inspired development.
